Day 1 - October  16

Picture
A U-2 spy plane discovers and photographs development of Soviet Union missile sites being built on Cuba. Kennedy is shown the findings of the flyover and meets with his advisers to discuss how to respond. Two ideas were proposed; an air strike or an all out invasion of Cuba. Another possible option was a naval quarantine. Kennedy didn't of leave any clues or say anything public to avoid public concern.

Day 3 - October 18

President Kennedy is visited by Andrei Gromyko, Soviet Foreign Minister. He tells Kennedy that the Soviet missile development is purely defensive and presents no threat to the United States. Kennedy didn't reveal to Gromyko that he knew that the missiles were offensive and warned him of the consequences if more significant missiles were developed.
